Sharon Kay McKinney, affectionately known to many as "Lil Bit," passed away peacefully on June 11, 2026, in Amherst, Ohio. Born on January 17, 1959, in Lorain, Ohio, Sharon lived a life marked by devotion to her family and the warmth of her kindhearted nature. Her presence brightened the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her, and she treasured spending time surrounded by loved ones.
Sharon’s generous spirit and family-oriented values defined her, weaving a legacy of love and togetherness. She was a woman who deeply enjoyed the company of others, always welcoming and caring, reflecting a soul devoted to kindness and connection.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Edward Lee McKinney Sr., who stood by her side for many years. Sharon’s love and nurturing nature are richly carried forward by her children: Elizabeth (Daniel) Bullocks, Jamie Carver, Le'Anna Bullocks, Paul Schaefer, Jeffrey Davis, Edward (Anna) McKinney, and Michael (Megan) McKinney. Her legacy extends through 21 cherished grandchildren, each a testament to the love she so generously gave.
Also among her surviving family are her mother, Ruth Osburn; brothers James Osburn and Timmy Osburn; and Orpha Dilworth. They hold dearly to the memories of Sharon's compassion and enduring spirit. Sharon was predeceased by her father, Howard Osburn, whose memory lives on in her heart.
A Memorial Service honoring Sharon’s life will take place on June 16, 2026, at 3:00 P.M. at CrossPointe Community, located at 1800 Columbia Rd, Westlake, Ohio 44145. This gathering will offer all who knew her a moment to reflect on the profound impact she had on their lives and to celebrate the remarkable woman she was.
In this time of remembrance, we honor Sharon Kay McKinney for the love she shared, the joy she inspired, and the family ties she strengthened. She will be deeply missed, yet her spirit lives on in the hearts of all who loved her.
